Sweet and Savory Kale Recipe from WPRawl |
Kale, I can’t tell you how many articles and books that I have read describing the benefits of kale. I think I have purchased it at least four times and let it just sit in my fridge. Forget ‘third time is a charm’, it took this girl five times before I actually took it out of the crisper drawer to eat and not to just get rid of whatever the heck was causing that smell! 🙂 The fact that it came all bagged up, triple washed, and cut could have something to do with the fact that it actually made it to my table. But it got there! Right?
Sooooo…I sauteed the kale along with garlic, onion, chicken stock, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, sugar and cranberries…just like the recipe on the back of the package told me to. We all (with the exception of my youngest son) devoured it! My youngest son was having a reaction (hives on chin and forehead) to something right before dinner and I didn’t feel comfortable introducing a new food to him. He will be getting his chance tomorrow at lunch. Lucky boy! 🙂
For those of you still hesitant to try it, I say GO FOR IT, JUST DO IT, WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER, wait, nope, scratch that last one… 🙂
I haven’t tried kale any other way then the recipe above. I’m hoping we all like it just as much. I know tomorrow I’ll be sneaking it in a shake for the whole fam.
What’s your favorite way to eat kale? Anyone have any pointers for me?
Thanks for reading,
Elizabeth

That sounds tasty! Kale doesn't come in a bag for me, it's always in a bunch. Could I have some pointers as to the recipe? I'd love to serve it that way. I usually just throw it in smoothies 🙂

I love kale! Actually my whole family does - yes, the kids too! We love it in soup, indian dishes, and as chips. Kale chips are amazing. I promise you'll love them. You really can't stop at just one.
