Today we took the kids on a small hike. We packed up a lunch, put on our ski pants, hats, scarves, mittens, and boots and drove a couple miles down the street to a local apple orchard. It was by far the best choice we made all weekend.
We LOVE to be outdoors. Usually at this time we’d be on the mountain teaching our boys to ski and snow board. However, the very mild winter we’ve had this season has been anything but good for skiing. So off we go…into the woods.
This is my husband James. What a good man he is, we are so very lucky to have him. I wish I had taken a picture of the breakfast he made for me this morning. Did I mention he even brought it upstairs to me in bed? Oh yeah…I got a good one! ๐ Lucky, lucky girl! ๐
Very rarely do I find myself on the opposite side of the camera. Here is one of those rare moments.
I absolutely love this picture. My husband taking up the lead, my oldest close by, my youngest trailing behind and myself holding my camera and taking it all in. These are the memories I want to keep with me forever.
Some local boys let us invade their rink and even let us borrow a puck for some pond hockey. All was good until our youngest went face first into the ice. My boys are always proud to get a hockey injury, so all was good. ๐
And back to where we started… It was a good day.
You have such a beautiful family Elizabeth! We love to be outdoors as well. Thank you for sharing such sweet moments that have nothing to do with food or allergies or both!
Thanks Lindsey. ๐ Sometimes it's just nice to get to know the blogger. ๐ I love reading about how other families spend their time.
