As I type this, my nine year old son has only a half day left of public school.
Which means I will officially be his homeschooling teacher.
I can’t even begin to tell you how many thoughts are running through my head at this very moment. It is NOT easy doing something out of the norm, against what everyone else is doing. Hmmm…well, it’s not exactly hard…it’s just scary….for me anyways.
Doubt and Fear are probably right up there as being the first most powerful feelings that I have about homeschooling right now.
Then I take a deep breath in.
And a deep breath out.
I make room, mentally, for new positive feelings. Feelings of ‘I can do this’ attitude. Feelings of having the opportunity to give my children a different lifestyle. Heck, not just the children…but ourselves as well! I remind myself of all of the reasons as to why we felt homeschooling was a good fit for us. Then I’m able to relax a little and smile.
But really…let’s not think about school right now…because we’re now officially a half a day away from SUMMER VACATION!!!!!!
WOOO HOOO!!!! Off to the pool! (once I lower the water, fix the skimmer, shock it, and vacuum it)
